How can you find out the date of an online article?

Update:

Ex, http://recipes.howstuffworks.com/5-common-genetica...

No publication date seems to be listed on the page. How do I determine when this was written or published? not just for that one article, but online articles in general.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Unless they put it on there, you can't. Maybe a year at the bottom. If you are citing the article for a paper, you put the date that you access it.
