Difference between blacklight and glow in the dark?
So. If I bought a blacklight poster for my room, would it be bright and stuff at night with the lights off? Or do I specifically need a blacklight for that?

As everyone has been saying: black-light posters require a black-light. I've researched both black-light and glow-in-the-dark paints. Black-light paint glows when UV light hits it. Glow-in-the-dark paint also reacts to light, and the paint stores some of the light energy. This paint doesn't glow all night. Some colors only glow for a short time; other colors glow longer but seldom last longer than an hour.

You would specifically need a black light. Glow in the dark materials soak up light and reflect it back once the lights are off. Black lights enhance the color of certain bright material. It can be fun to play with black lights to see what will glow and what won't.

When they say "Black light Poster" they mean that it will glow and stuff when under a black light. If you don't have one, it will just be a poster. They are made with fluorescent paint which glows under black lights. Not all paints will do that.

you need a blacklight for them. they do not glow in the dark, they absorb the black light and "fluoresce" it back in bright colors
you also require a strobe light and lava lamp
