There's birthdays, school concerts, graduations, deb balls, marriage, grandkids etc...so why do rlships have to involve and hurt the kids just coz 2 adults can't get along and make it work!

Everyone's situation is different, but when kids are involved the adults should make a strong attempt to be civil, if only for the kid's sake. The children didn't ask to be brought into that situation. Far too many parents behave stupidly and selfishly after divorce. Sometimes though, the divorce was so ugly that one or both parents feel unable to be civil toward the other, because of all the wrongs that occurred.
