AFIK Modello was a name applied to Baldwin's line of player pianos. The best place to start would be the Library and see if you can get your hands on a copy of the Pierce Piano Atlas. That will have the info on age. Failing that, you could contact Baldwin and see if they can provide any information

It's impossible to give an accurate appraisal over the internet. Value of pianos is primarily determined by condition. The serial number places it around 1990, which is still very young for a piano, but about the time when you should expect to be doing some regulation restringing in the near future. $400 would be a fair price IF the piano is in decent condition. If it's recently had work done such as restringing or regulation, it would be worth more, if it hasn't been taken care of then it would be worth less. You really need to get a professional to take a look at it to be sure.
