Car acceleration jerky at low rpms in 2nd and 3rd. Do i need a new distributor?

Update:

The distributor has a leak from the inner seal. Could this cause it to be jerky?. I was thinking of buying a used one from the wreckers because i know where to buy the right sized seal and o ring.

It also "Bounces" a bit when the throttle is let off in these lower gears. The only thing i could think of that could be causing it were the clutch 'dampening' springs (not sure what they're called) because the clutch and plate are very worn and due for a change.

If the clutch and plate are very worn and due for a change, install a new set.

    You need a mechanic.

Try shifting at a higher rpm. Some engines are designed to run higher. My subaru liked to shift high and jerked at low rpms.

    A distributor- probably not.

The carburetor cleaned, new air and fuel filters maybe and-

MAKE, MODEL and YEAR of said vehicle info would be helpful.
