What do you think about the movie, Maleficent?

I loved it! I thought Angelina Jolie did a great job playing the character. She was born to play Maleficent! No other actress could pull it off, besides her! The story was entertaining. The visual effects were beautiful to look at! I enjoyed it very much.

Many people did not like the film because they said that the writers changed the movie. Well, they did not re-make the original. They made the movie from the point of view of Maleficent so it could be exactly like animated version!

I thought she did a great job but the movie only rated about a 5 for me. There was nothing evil about Maleficent and evil is what should define that character. I think Disney took too much liberty to make her sympathetic and it removed the fun that a true villain is to watch.

I was quite disappointed. It was such a flat and predictable storyline. And I agree with the other answers, too little evil and too much good. Not very maleficent!

But yes, Angelina looked amazing and the visuals were spectacular.

    I disliked the movie.

I liked maleficent as a villain because she was the first female badass villain who was not evil because of a man. She was simply evil because it was who she was.

I felt the movie Malificent was like traveling back in time with one point in mind: a woman's sense of morality and lifestyle is dependent on a man.

...when real women don't act that way and they do have ambitions of their own.

Villain or not, it was nice to know a female character had her own drive for her own reasons...and instead that changed.

The only part I liked of the movie was the song by Lana Del Rey during the closing credits, 'Once Upon a Dream.' She has an absolutely gorgeous voice.
