How can one tell how recently a question was posted.?

When I search on a common term and sort on newest, I soon get to questions that have answers that were posted over five years ago.

On the newest version, you can no longer easily do that. In the past, it would state under the question when it was asked. Now, you actually have to learn to read the URL of the question if you really want to know.

Sorting by "Newest" SHOULD bring up more recent matches than five years ago. The "Relevant" sort will bring up older things, though. Be certain that you really have "Newest" selected, try refreshing the page, and see if that helps any.

That suggests that there haven't been many recent questions on that subject.
