How do you create an alloy?

you have to get two materials to dissolve in each other

you can mix mercury with silver and shake it like crazy to get an amalgam for dental fillings

you can mix molten copper with molten zinc to get brass

making steel in a blast furnace using coke (impure carbon from coal) you will naturally get carbon dissolved into the iron making steel
