    2 2/3 + 8 3/5

    = 2 10/15 + 8 9/15 ... change the fractional parts to a common denominator:

    = 10 + 19/15 ... add the whole and fractional parts separately

    = 10 + 15/15 + 4/15 ... remove whole number from improper fraction

    = 11 4/15
