Poll: Should I report my friend for welfare fraud?

My friend is a former jockey who has to claim welfare social security after his career ended due to a back injury.

He has been doing a little gardening and car washing for elderly people for extra money.

He has not told the welfare people about his income Should I report him even though he could get jail time for fraud and his welfare terminated?

I feel as a respected member of the community and church I should be honest. I hope he will understand and maybe getting prosecuted can help him reflect and repent.

Update:

He is quite a lonely person and maybe a prison setting would be better than him being on his own at Xmas. btw I'm not sure I want to speak to him again for his offense.

He is not religious but in prison he can get counselling to repent his sins.

No? You sound like a kindergartner angry over a stolen crayon. Just because you know something, doesn't mean you're not being honest by not reporting it. Snitches get stitches.
