Poll...... Celebrate YOUR child's birthday every year yes, but do you HAVE to go to other families kids b'days every year too? What's fair?

I have certain family that EVERY single year ( approx 15 kids) Invite everyone to EVERY birthday, even if it's a one year old, five year old.

They invite every known person! And spend a fortune!

Sometimes it's expensive for those attending too.

The parents have organised to go somewhere that you have to pay to even get in.

One party costs my family $100+ just to go.

Is it ok to just go to like milestones 10th, 18th etc...birthdays?

My OWN kids have parties at home or park, and usually invite only who they actually like and know well.

Is it me, or is it stupid to make a fuss every single year, even up till 5 yrs of age the kid has no clue who is there.

Fair enough they as a family unit celebrate, great, but to invite basically anyone they even may have met only once?

What do you do?

Where's the line for you?

Do you go to every single b'day your invited to?

No way, I don't go to every b-day I'm invited to. I'm selfish in that way, I guess, but I don't expect people to come to my parties, I don't care if they do.

I don't even like having parties anymore, my parents like it if I have one, though. Hey, if I had the choice, I'd blow off my own party.

Also, it seems pretty rude to have parties that will be expensive for guests.
