What will it take to have the African American community to move forward?

They will have decide they want to control their own fate rather than waiting for something to be given to them.

Just to be clear, it has moved forward a great deal in my lifetime which has been longer than many. To continue it will take time and a genuine desire by most people both Black and otherwise to integrate into the larger society. I think its coming, there will be ups and downs, but its coming. The more we see each other as people rather than racial groups, the better we will be. Give it time.

A leader that isn't afraid to tell the truth and if he happens to be a black leader, not being afraid of being called an Uncle Tom or just playing the race card for political gain..

Police and citizen outreach. More police attending HOA meetings and public being invited by police outreach.
