What do you think about a Savage Model 11 chambered in .308 Winchester, as a deer hunting and black bear cartridge?

I think it's one of the best rifles you can get for the price. Savage has done an excellent job of making high quality, accurate rifles over the last few decades.
.308 Winchester is a perfectly adequate deer cartridge and it will do the job on black bear, too.
Just make sure you use a good bonded bullet so you have enough penetration to punch through the heavier fur, bones, skin, fat, and muscle on a black bear. While black bears aren't as "armored" as brown bears, they still have a lot more bulk defending their vital organs than a deer, so you need a bullet that is suitable for punching through all that.
Incidentally, you can probably use the same bonded bullet for deer, so you don't have to sight in for a different round. It'll be more expensive for each shot, but it will be easier on you. Go find something like a Remington Core Lokt Ultra, just to be sure your bullet punches through and hits vitals.
And as always, if you select the right bullet and put it in the right spot, you should be fine.

Great for both.
Another great gun/cartridge combo is the Marlin 1895 in .45-70. The .45-70 can be loaded to several different power levels making it very versatile.
However, you can't go wrong with a bolt 308 Win

Nothing wrong with it. Though, personally I'd say if you're gonna get into bear, having the heavier bullet weights of the 30-06 at your disposal would be nice, but .308 will do too (for black bears anyways). Good gun, good cartridge. Should be good to go.

Well, I just happen to have one of their fine, sporting rifles, right here. I would use 150 gr on deer and 180 on bear.

Not as good as anything I've designed, built, wanked over but it will do the job.
