This is a complete old wives' tale. You don't get drunk any faster (or slower) by drinking through a straw than any other way. A given quantity of ethanol consumed over a given amount of time produces the exact same blood alcohol content no matter how the alcohol was ingested. Period.

It's not a myth. It's true.
The reason is because you usually drink more, faster, when using a straw. The more you drink, and the faster you drink it, the faster you will become intoxicated.

Never heard of it. It is the amount of alcohol you drink not the way you drink it.
