Where to have security fob feature removed from my car?

The previous owner of my car had a security feature installed in which you have a key fob that you have to have near the ignition in order for the car to start. However, it's starting to mess up (I'll turn the key with the fob in hand and it will take multiple tries to start) and I know it's not my battery because I just had it replaced.

It's easier and far cheaper to replace the fob, than to have the feature disabled.

Also bear in mind that disabling the feature may invalidate your insurance or any warranty you have on the car, as it is classed as a security feature.

Security systems like that come from the factory. Go to the dealer and have them diagnose what is wrong before you end up having to pay $150 for a tow truck! Hey..thanks for telling us what you drive. Saves us from having to actually help you!

Have you checked the battery of the fob?

"I know it's not my battery because I just had it replaced."

Yeah, that's what they all say. You'd be surprised how quickly you can kill a new battery.

You need it fixing as removing it would be expensive as the loom needs changing/cutting.
