BOXING: where would you rank MANNY PACQUIAO if he beats FLOYD MAYWEATHER?
If you're a mayweather fan of course you'd say hell no it aint gonna happen but then again that wont answer my question so assuming pac beats floyd, where should he rank all time? As far as i remember i believe at one point sugar did say he may have to rearrange his top 10 and steward ranked manny pacquiao top 12 all time. Sugar was so impressed with pac's climb of weight classes even comparing it to hank and steward more on manny's consistent destruction of quality opponents. Of course im not saying you do the same, i just wanna know your thoughts. With or without floyd i believe manny has secured his place in the history books as no matter how easy it is to win paper titles, still no one has won 7 in different weight classed let alone 8. Add the fact that 4 of those were lineal titles. To have a good look as to how difficult these feats are few can only come down to false assumption that only juiced up ones can do such completely disregardinng pac's skill improvement. Among today's boxer's its safe to say manny has fought the most opponents that may land in the hall of fame. Manny beat barrera twice, morales twice, marquez twice, cotto, dela hoya, mosley and maybe hatton. Timothy bradley has a bright future specially both floyd and manny are very close to retiring. Now who else among today's boxers have dominated such names considering manny is almost always givin up size and really up to this point can still make 140. You sum up all these then you add mayweather's name,,

I don't believe Manny need Floyd Mayweather to be considered a top Pound for Pound boxee of all time.
I wouldn't say he is up there with Robinson, leanard, duran or hearns though he broke hearns record
The sad truth is this hearns didn't win more titles in higher weight classes because of the quality of oppression during that time. If these guys fought in our generation then Im sure their record and titles would of been much more impressive. The fact is Manny would definitely be in the top 20 Hands down I can't see Floyd making the top 20 floyd might be ranked a bit higher than Prince Naseem because just like Prince Naseem Floyd never took much of a risk in his career. To answer your Question Manny don't need Floyd

I'd rank Pacquio in the upper top 10. Beating Mayweather at nearly 38 years old won't make him a top 5, but within the top 1`0.

Pacquiao will obviously be the number 1 boxer in the world if he beats Floyd and maybe top 8 all time. If he doesn't lose and beats Khan, Brook and Mayweather again where would you rate him?

With or without Mayweather, Pac's already up there as one of the greatest pound-for-pound and multi-division fighters along with Henry Armstrong, Roberto Duran, Sugar Ray Leonard and Tommy Hearns. Beating Floyd won't have much of an impact on his career because both are past their primes. I mean, you know Lennox Lewis beat Tyson, but it didn't impact Lewis' career that much because the fight had not happened earlier when it should have.

No need to beat Floyd in my opinion. The only reason Floyd is up there is because he is a BLACK AMERICAN and he gets a pass from many of the boxing analysts who are Americans. The way he is acting in ducking Pacquaio, if he were Asian, European, Mexican, Colombian, or any other country, he wouldn't even be in the top 10.

Honestly i hate floyd and want him to lose but i cant deny he is in my top 20 p4p of all time and paq is is in my top 40 there both past their best right now but if pacq beats him he def will rank in my top 20 of all time a win over def does matter there both still to this day tied as the best ofi 2000s decade and it still needs closure even if the fight is 5 or 6 years late
