a friend of mine thinks she might be pregnant since her period hasn't come in a week. Is there anything I can recommend that she can take short of waiting for an abortion?

Why is she still sitting around thinking she "might" be pregnant instead of just taking a test?
If she is, there's no home remedy, she'll need to see a doctor for an abortion pill or procedure.

She needs to take a pregnancy test and find out if she is pregnant and if she is there is the abortion pill that doctor or family planning clinic will give up to 8 weeks of pregnancy, if she is under 18 she will ned an adult with her, Good Luck

Not at this stage. The Plan B and similar pills need to be taken within 72 hours of unprotected sex. It would be best for your friend to take a test instead of worrying about a pregnancy that might not be.
