Personality to pets?

I have an approximately 90 gallon tank. It is glass and holds water. I wanted a few bala sharks. I love their speed and colors. My mom wants a few (two) oscars. Eels are on my high list too but I know they are saltwater. I also like the idea of a community tank with plants. Gouramis tetras the whole 9 nine yards with plants and everything. I want a group of fish whether it's one type or a multitude of different fish that can live in the tank without an upgrade when they assume their adult sizes. Freshwater only! All fish must be under 20 dollars each as a baby. I wanted to purchase young to watch them grow I just love seeing the transformation. Thanks ahead of time. I just have a hard time seeing options. Anything helps.

There are freshwater eels( fire eel, very pretty) but you could only have one and not too much else also see bichrs the are eel like but still get pretty big. I have had pretty much every type on freshwater fish you could name.

Okay so this is random but certain fish do better in certain parts of the US, (due to the chemistry of the natural water in the area) if you want you can go the to store and buy a test strip kit, test your house water and send me the results. I can tell you what type of fish will thrive in your water!

P.S The results i would need are P.H and hardness ;)

No Bala Sharks, they get big and need to school. Oscars need 75G/ea, so you can keep 1 but they will eat mostly any other fish. Instead of eels, you can get loaches, they have an eel like body. And you can do Gourami with several different schools of tetras, barbs, danios, etc. If you have any questions, feel free to comment.
