Do people today prefer a delicious misconception to a simple truth?

they prefer the misconception and here's why. Often times people do not fully understand or do not wish to understand the simple truth. If they follow this misconception they believe they can live blissfully unaware of the truth and not let the truth have any significant effect on their life as a person. so by doing this they give up any right to argure over this misconception because they do not know the truth in the first place. this is why many people often "Go with the flow" with these things and follow the individual or group of individuals who know the truth but give the miss conception that they too understand the truth when they find themselves unable to.

We would know what we prefer if we are ignorant to truth. Distortions and misconceptions limit options and obscures reality. There are groups and institutions that purposely craft information in a way that is accepted without contexts or proper verification. Information hits us at a rapid rate that is faster than anytime in history. Many of these institutions are well known and trusted by large segment of the population, and they count on the public not taking the time to check out the validity of the information.

Delicious misconceptions served with a side of outright lies and a glass of distortion seem to be very popular here in the modern West....and they would like the same "super sized"....

Some do, some don't. Those that do have a limited horizon of possibilities, the more so the more hysterical/unrealistic their views.

It is OK to dream but confusing the dream with reality (the most extreme form of which commonly occurs in schizophrenia) can do nothing but harm.

Today, people watch too much television and they confuse reality with what they see on the screen. In this confusion, they tend to prefer illusion over reality.

Philosophically speaking it depends on their intellectual brilliance. I mean they should not be under the influence of mental confusion at any level. People get confused at different levels.

truth is always bitter and not many can accept that. sweet lies are hence preferred by the majority of us. and it is a very natural tendency for us.
