Temp solution to dipping sidewalk near front door steps until things thaw out?

The approach to my front door has 1 step. This step is dipping now by about 2-3", and the two segments of walkway are tilted which is causing this dip. Over the last snowfall/melt/refreeze, this has caused a pileup of water which of course turned into ice, that is about 2-3" thick.

So I need a temporary solution to this until things thaw out (I'm in SE Michigan), and the cement can be demolished and the whole thing fixed properly.

I was thinking of just putting some brick pavers in the area of the largest dip, or maybe even just a few sheets of plywood. Just to raise that area above where the water settles (I'll chop out the ice first). It just has to last until spring time, so 3 months max.

Well, one obvious thing to do is place a diverter so water from elsewhere doesn't pool up on it, but I don't know that will be feasible.

You could get a load of gravel or dirt, and fill over the area, that might work. Pavers may be satisfactory, but I wouldn't recommend Plywood, that can get slippery too.
