Is 12 credit hours bad for college?

Unfortunately I did not pass my math class last semester, and if I did, I would have received 15 credit hours for that semester, but due to the fact that I did not pass, I only received 12. Is that bad and will it effect me academically? I am retaking the class this semester, currently, and am taking a total of 16 credit hours.

Will I be okay at the end of freshman year even though I took a total of 28 credit hours, two short of 30??

If anything, a slower moving student is more beneficial to the university if you think about it. At least where I went to school, there was only a time limit you impose on yourself if you wanted to finish in a specific time period. They just basically said that if you are on a schedule for a 4 year graduation in the engineering school, then you'll have to average 16 credits per semester, but the only minimum set to be classified as a full student was 12 credits. They had a system that allowed you to make up for credits later, like summer school, for example. Some of the WECEP guys (marines trying to become commissioned officers) befriended were required to go to school year round to be on the fast track to graduation.

you have to have at least 12 to get financial aid

    so you're good there

most universities have a specific number of credits you need to have in order to be considered a sophomore

all universites are different, so your's might be 28 or it might be 31 or it could be anywhere in between

if you don't have the official number of credits to be an "official sophomore" it doesn't really mean anything though

you're still able to registers for your second year, you're still able to do all the things you'd normally be able to do

maybe you can't be sophomore class president or some silly thing at your school, but that's it

I don't know which math class you failed but maybe these videos will help
