DEATH NOTE VS ATTACK ON TITAN? WHICH IS BEST?

I think I answered this same question a couple months ago, but oh well.

First off, we're comparing two completely different series. Death Note is a psychological thriller, and AoT is an action / fantasy anime. Both are decent anime when you're talking about them in their respective genres. Neither anime really made my jaw drop, then again I'm a pretty seasoned anime watcher (watched over 500 series in the last 10 years or so). I've seen anime that are far more bloody, gory, and violent than either of these series.

Personally, I would pick Death Note just because of the story and genre. Psychological thrillers are my favorites, but AoT isn't bad. The fights in AoT are really good and pretty unique, which gives the anime some points despite it abusing some of the same tropes as every other shounen series.

I personally like Death Note a bit better. That's not to say Death Note is the better of the two. This is because it was only due to the storytelling being on the edge and a little bit more unpredictable with some animation artwork I considered a bit better. Plus I am not too much into action anime so DN got the upper hand.

Which hit me in the feels? AoT. Nothing is more creepy than a world where humans are getting preyed upon, it's savage. The violence in DN in my opinion is more like a duel than war, where 2 geniuses battle in civilized manner. In DN, we always feel the protagonist has this guaranteed victory if he does things right. In AoT, we do not feel victory or assurance for the character's safety if they do everything right too.

Which had my jaws drop more? DN. From light's side of the story, the audience never gets a rest. He has to think on his heels real fast compared to the group effort of AoT.

I prefer Light's mindset over the blood shed a bit more. It's not to say DN is better at horror than AoT, I just like psychological terror better than body horror.

I prefer Death Note story wise, I find Attack on Titan very humorous as the Regular Titans run really funny. I actually can't take that show seriously lol because of that.

Its hard to say which one is the best, but right now it would be Death Note. Attack on Titan hit me the most in terms of feels. My jaw dropped more on attack on titan bc the audience would know what they were in for as soon as they got the intelligent plot that was presented in the beginning of the show of Death Note. Attack on Titan was plot twist after plot twist, and killing of characters u wished weren’t dead. And for ur last question of preference I would go with the more realistic one (i know its anime, SHUT UP lol), definitely Light’s sadistic path to evil bc most ppl would agree his ways are effective but not morally right (still awesome tho lol.). There so much discussion whether his justice was right or wrong and the fact that what drove him seems realistic, which is ironic bc its an anime lol.

Death note is better to me but aot is bada.. I just like how death note was more of a power struggle with 2 brilliant well 4 people and gods of death always trying to stay one step ahead aot is very straight forward besides some plot twist it's all about survive just survive don't get eatin

I honestly think Deathnote is better than Aot. Mainly because of the thought that Light has, and how he pays attention to everything and how carefully planned out he has everything through out the whole series, which is why the ending is crap. Where as AOT has a really good story line, but nothing really shocked me, like boom snap plot twist, like Deathnote did, and Deathnote had episode endings that made you have to see the next episode to see what happens, where as AOT was just like every other action anime xD But theyre both very good anime and i love them both! But Deathnote Definitely wins!!

If I had to choose, I'd say Death Note. It's more original and innovative out of the two

Personally, I was more caught off guard by AoT than Death Note. But then again I paid more attention to the former than the latter...
