Overweight People: Enlighten me upon your condition and kindly answer some of the following Questions?

Let me begin by saying that I am not prejudice towards you in any way whatsoever, it does not bother me in the least that you are overweight. I am merely asking this question out of curiosity. Curiosity that was aroused by a recent question I just read here ( How can one lose 15 pounds in a month ).

As a 36 year-old male who my entire life have been slightly under-weight it is Difficult for me to understand you. My Girlfriend has often tried to lose weight with little or no results.

My Question´s are as follows:

How did you get there ?

Do you eat obscene amounts of food or this Genetical ?

What part of losing weight is Difficult for you ? ( assuming that you want to lose weight )

A user asked how she might lose 15 pounds in a month .. This issue of losing weight seems like plain common sense to me and I´m sure that 15 pounds can be lost in 2 days .. in fact I think i have done it many times even though it was never in my interest to lose weight.

Is it not a simple case of common sense ?

i.e. : exercise and don´t eat

Because I would think somebody with an excess of 20 kilos could afford to not eat for quite some time.. what do you think ?

    When I was overweight

    1 . I was born fat(genetics)

2 . I ate what everybody else ate although sometimes it was bad for me but I couldn't accept the fact that I was bigger than my other cousins

3.losing weight was easy when I committed to a healthy diet and daily exercising, but it is hard to get rid of the bad food habits, like fries, chocolates, and working out at the begging is painful and runs your energy out, so some people give up

I don't think most overweight people eat an ridiculous amount of food, they just eat a normal amount of ridiculously bad food, high in calories, sugar and fat and once you get used to that is hard to come around it,and sometimes the family mocks you if you are trying to go on a diet, they are doubtful that fat old you can do it. Also it is hard to give up a sedentary life and start moving when it is so painful, we humans are designed to move away from pain when we are confronted with it, and some people have a hard time fighting that instinct.

    1. I walked there, rode a bike.

    2. I did eat obscene amounts of food. Working out made me ravenous sometimes. I tell people those aren't stretch marks. Those are scars from bear claws, from fighting bears.

    3. Its not difficult to loose weight at all for me.

    4. For some its ingrained bad habits, and those are hard to break.

I used to be very skinny, but I didn't like that. Now I am bulky, and it has given me a insight on how people get fat. Most of it is bad habits, combined with no exercise. I know very few people that are 110 kg+ that can do push ups easily, but unlike me, most people don't get heavy from eating a ton AND exercise.

I gained weight after having a baby. (I literally had so much water weight that my left ear clogged up, yes, it can really happen). Then I got severely depressed. And went completely broke. All of these factors played a major role. No I didn't over eat, but I didn't eat any of the right things. No matter what fat shamers say, it is more expensive to be healthy. At least in where I live. Since I was a depressed stay at home mom I had absolutely no exercise I gained, and gained.Weighed roughly 200 pounds. It wasn't until after I took myself off the depression medication (that was obviously worse for me, but strangely better than all the other crap they tried) I changed. I stopped eating meat for 1. Gave up flavored drinks. We bought a brita water filter pitcher, awesome investment by the way. And discovered hula hooping. Since then I started doing yoga, some weight training, and even enrolling in a fitness and nutrition certification program. In the end, the best thing that happened to me, was to take myself off the meds (against their wishes) and started teaching myself as much as I could about nutrition, digestion, the science of exercise. Understanding the science of it all has made me so much more aware. Which is why when people ask me about losing weight I always tell them to educate themselves. Everyone knows healthy foods and exercise are good, but no one really knows why. Until you see just how ramen noodles digest (ick by the way) it's just food going in and poop coming out.

But 15 in a month? so many people are looking for a quick fix. I absolutely hate temporary diets. They only give temporary results and actually do more damage to our organs. It's not about diets, it's all about lifestyle changes. Now I am at 139 and counting. Let me tell you, it is much easier and more enjoyable (less work) to gain weight than it is to loose it.

    15 pounds in amonth

15 pounds in a month is a lot, average is 8-10 pounds its not very easy, you have to stop all sweets and have lots of protein and veg certain things like strawberries and sprouts speed up your metabolisim but not much, cut out bread and only minimal carbs and you may reach your target but excersice need to be done. one day in your forties probably you'll notice your trousers a bit tight and then that's the start it just happens unless you are very strict and boring with your intake
