[idea about] Vs. [opinion on/of/about]?
Hello,
Most of the dictionaries say: [idea about] = belief or opinion
Then, what's the difference between [idea about] and [opinion on/of/about]? ARen't they the same thing?
Idea about = someone's opinion or belief about something. ==> Longman Dictionary
Idea about = a belief or opinion. ==> Cambridge Dictionary
I will be glad if you give me some guidance on the usage of [idea about] and its difference from [opinion on/of/about].
Thank you.

Opinion and belief are not the same thing. Although neither may have scientific or logical proof behind it, an opinion is a transient, and sometimes temporary feeling about some issue or thing that may change frequently or be influenced by other factors. A belief is a set of doctrinal rules that dictate behavior or circumstance. A belief is a lot stronger than an opinion.
