Best mp3 player with FOLDER NAVIGATION?

I do not care about any other features, such as screen, radio, mic, internet etc.

I just want an mp3 player with 8GB and reasonable battery life (10-15h), supporting folder browsing instead of metadata and automatic ordering of songs.

I just want a device where I can transfer my music AS I HAVE IT ORGANISED ON MY COMPUTER, and play it into headphones. That s all.

I understand Sansa Sandisk supports folder browsing, can someone confirm?

Also, can you let me know which one to go for, between Clip, Clip Zip, Sport or Fuze?

Thanks in advance. I do not have, nor want a smartphone, just a way to listen to music on long bus rides with folder navigation.

I use a Creative Zen every day for years - and I also want my audio organized the way I like it. HOWEVER - each device has its own hierarchy of organization - and things like track number of music, or broadcast date of podcasts, are NOT usually supported. So - your folder, as you are finding, become meaningless - the player might default to alphabetical listings, etc. So - I take a minute to renumber my things on the computer, before I drag them onto the player. Every few days, i remove the podcasts I heard, download the new ones thru iTunes, give them the next arbitrary number I have in my series, and drag them over - BOOM! I have no problem with CDs that I rip - their internal encoding works fine. If you want your FOLDERS in a special order, again - you will have to number them, and use leading zeros - 001, 002 . . . . . 122, 123, etc. My Creative Zen has meoeery cards of 8G each - so I can carry a lot on those PLUS the native storage - and then extra cards. I am a professional classical musician and listen to music a LOT (ya think?) as well as tons of podcasts (because sometimes I have to relax and get music OUT of my head!) My model is a few years old - see what their new ones are. I have an iPhone, but never listen to music on it - it' in the Zen, and worth it to me to have it separate.
