Can You Please Explain 'Majors' and 'Minors' at University?

I'd like to do a Business degree, but also do either Media or Marketing with it. Would this mean I 'major' in Business and 'minor' in Media/Marketing? Does this vary between universities in the UK and US?

Universities in the UK are different from the US, so a major and a minor will be named the same way in both countries, but the content of the courses will be different. Explaining this will sound silly, but the United Kingdom is the United Kingdom and the US is the US. Both have different identities. Good luck. I was a college professor of education in the US.

UK universities, unlike the US, don't offer 'majors' and 'minors' - you study the subject of the degree you've signed up for.
