Am I paying too much for car insurance?

I know everything varies from person to person and depends on locations across the country but overall I was wondering if any experts out there think I'm getting a good deal or not. I'll provide some details but not my insurance company name as I don't want a biased answer from someone who say works for a certain company. Anyway it's a national insurance brand and here is the details.

I live in North Carolina. Me and my spouse are on the plan together. Total is 3 vehicles. 2014 Ford F150, 2010 Hyundai Elantra and 2006 Chevy Cobalt. The F-150 and Elantra have full coverage, as they are still being played on. The Cobalt is owned by us and paid not the bank and only has liability. We are paying approx average of $160 a month? Good deal? Or should I shop around more? I'm looking to reduce some monthly debt. I have been with this same company since I started driving at 16, it's what I hav e bc my parents had them when I started and I stayed there myself. I'm 26 now so I've been with them over 10 years now.

Like lucy said, you're asking in the wrong place. You want to ask an agent / broker or six, not a room full of online strangers. That's the only way you can find the information you're looking for.

You listed a few details, but nothing of much use. Your state and the vehicles are factors in the price, but they're only two out of roughly a hundred factors that go into the calculation. And don't start listing your details in here, because 99% of that stuff is totally confidential and this place is totally not. You said it yourself, you know the rates vary from person to person depending on a hundred things. That's exactly why you can't get an answer in here that will be worth anything.

Don't bother doing it online, call around by phone. About half of those websites that offer comparative prices from 20 insurance companies are complete bull shift, total fraud or pure advertising sites that are not connected to any insurance company at all. The other half are just completely unreliable. I can't count the number of times people told me my quotes were wrong because they went to insurancehotline.com and got a totally different estimate from the same insurance company. When I asked them why they didn't just get their policy from the website, they said "well, they're not a broker or anything" and I would say "exactly".

When you have 1 company and multiple vehicles, they give you a multi car discount. I think the 2nd car could be 10%, and the 3rd 10 or 20% less.

2 financed cars, have to have full coverage till they are paid off. Some companies will give you discounts for so many years (if) you have not had any claims filed, but the discount, (guessing) is around 10%.

Your rates are based on your zip code, your driving history, and any accidents and/or tickets. If is also based on your credit, and if bad credit pay more, if good, can pay less.

My suggestion, forget the online internet, since you need to talk to an agent who can do business in several companies, to give you the best quote. Over the years, had the same company, and after talking to agents found out that the cost was anywhere from $50 to $100 less per year, so did not change. If you take even $100 and divide by 12, then $8.33 less per month.

Only an agent can advise if you can find a much better deal.
