Getting a C in gym??
Ok so I do cross country and track and i am fast. My best mile (during a 3 mile race) was 5:43. 2 weeks ago I fell and hit my head and got a concussion. I didn't run for 2 weeks and went back to gym this week. my first day back, we ran the mile. i got a 6:45. I also had a track meet that day so I didn't want to go fast at all. My gym teacher gave me a 33%!!! It dropped my grade 20%. I think this is ridiculous. In order to get a 100% on the mile I would have had to have gotten a 5:45. I am a girl in high school.

Talk to your counselor. If you had a concussion and did not feel up to participating, you should not have been marked down. Maybe have your doctor write a note saying you should have limited participation due to concussion. However, that would also hold for track as well. If you can't participate fully in gym, you should not do track.

You can talk to your gym teacher. Tell him/her about your concussion. You can ask him/her to temporarily take the mile run off of your grade. Ask him/her if you can re-run it in a couple of weeks to a month (enough time to improve your mile again) and then he/she can add that time to your grade instead.
