Do you think we will ever see a big budget movie for the Dragonball series?
Just wondering because with all these super hero movies and comic book adaptations taking over the big screens, from well known characters like Captain America and Iron man to lesser known groups like Inhumans, they're seemingly making movies for everybody now. Not to mention other random films like Shazam starring the Rock.
Now, for it to be a big budget film it would probably take the people are Marvel buying the rights to the series, but that's a long shot in its own right. But there is definitely money to be made off of DBZ, with it being one of the most popular anime series of all-time (didn't say best).
I don't know how you out the two universes together, that's something those writers would have to think about. I mean its not like continuity and realism is a major factor in these fictional worlds anyways.
The budget for DB Evolution was $30 Million. The Budget for Captain America Winter Soldier was $170 Million, and that's more or less the type of range I am talking about.

Unless the movie is an anime, like Battle of Gods, no we won't. It doesn't matter how much money is put into a movie, if the script is bad, then the entire movie is doomed, such as the case with Dragon Ball Evolution; it wasn't the effects or actors that ruined it, it was mainly the script and how far it deviated from the original story.
Akira Toriyama never wanted to make a Dragon Ball live-action movie, but when they did it, he even tried to help with making the movie better, but they ignored him and the movie became a total wreck. After Dragon Ball Evolution's failure, I doubt they'll ever want to make another live-action movie again.

There WAS a Dragonball movie, but it was SO bad, its unlikely anyone will ever make another.
