If your complaint is about speed, then a VPN will demote you back to your home speed or worse. Your best option is to hardwire your laptop to your router while it is downloading. Dont like sitting next to it? That's fine too. You can either use a powerline networking kit (uses your power lines to extend your network. They're awesome) or a wifi repeater (receives and relays the signal. Very useful if you can't use ethernet or despise it.)

I doubt they'll take lightly to u downloading games on their network. U can definitely expect a call to the principals office and be suspended.
