Should the UK voting age be 16?
I recently had the opportunity to vote in the Scottish Independence referendum aged 17 which i seized with both hands. Now, even though me and everyone my age has formed a political opinion, none of us are able to vote in the general election in may 2015. I really think the age needs to be lowered, in the run up to the referendum i saw teenagers actively take part in campaigns and trying to make a difference, i just think by age 16 most people have enough maturity to have a say in how the country is run. What does everyone think?

No, only Labour are proposing this because they also wish to bring the age of consent down to 14, not only do Labour propose to reduce the age of consent they want to introduce sex lessons to children of five years old.
The dropping of the age of consent would then reduce the number of paedophile crimes and Since Labour have a large number of paedophiles in there ranks they are keen to cut out parental interference in their activities.
Harriet Harman has been trying to reduce the age of consent for years and supported pie an organisation that wanted to allow adults to have sex with children as young as 10 as long as it was consensual I'm afraid that any one voting Labour has lost their marbles especially when Harriet Harman has abused MP's expenses to the total of 116 thousand pounds.

Edit; but you are still a child, adulthood begins at 18. If you bring down the age of f adulthood to 16 then this would alter the spectrum of your activities, it would mean that you could fully support yourself at 16, you would have to pay for your own university education, leave school at 16, to go to work to support yourself. Make decisions to early in life that you have no experience, be responsible for your own actions and so on. As I said No!

Personally I don't think 17-25 year old people have the maturity or life experience to understand what they are voting for or the complexities of it.

Experience tells me it should stay at 18. Things change a lot in a couple of years at that age.

No way. I have seen sixteen year olds. I taught them in schools. They are children with no more sense than to know how to come in from a rainstorm. You probably don't agree with me but wait until you are 30 or so. You will see what I mean.
