Why do people keep making up years the world will end?

I asked My doctor that yesterday, he has predicted the end of my world several times and been wrong each time.

The thing to remember, is that these people WANT the world to end. They believe that they will be judged favorably and sent to heaven. It's a sort of demented wishful thinking for them.

The people want attention. They are not God.

Jesus will come like a thief in the night. God is the only one that knows when the world will end.. This is in the bible.

I'd assume it is tied to people's curiosity and fears. Some of the most morbid aspects of our existence attracts a lot of attention, oddly on the surface of it.

It is profitable.

Religious people and doomsayers are often spendthrifts, because they think that money will soon be worthless.

Twenty year more mortgage?

Yeah, but Jesus shows up in five, I win!

Ignorance.

Eventually one of them will be right, but hopefully not for another 5 billion years or so.

"World blows up at 10. See it here at 11 on channel 4 news."

They are probably right. But God wont stand for accuracy

about his last plan of action. So He changes the time.

It's sort of a hobby.

It's a sad, pitiful, and kind of demented hobby.

But hey, whatever floats your boat.
