How can I get my insurance company to speed up my homeowners flood claim I submitted 3mo's ago?

    Did you ask your agent for help? If you bought your insurance online, you only have an 800 number. If you had an agent, they would help you with this.

    You can inquire as to the status of the claim, but homeowners insurance doesn't pay for flood damage.

    Please be sure you don't mean "Water Backup" or something else which might be covered, depending on whether or not you chose that option.

    Homeowners insurance doesn't cover flood. Some other types of water damage, yes - but flood, not covered.

    Tell them they have had enough time! There are other things you can do. Ask for an appointment with them to discuss the timing. You can report them to the Better Business Bureau. The BBB, from my experience, does follow up on complaints. It's quite possible they will communicate with your insurance company and probably try speed them up. I had one experience where the BBB actually took the party I was complaining about to court because they had complaints from others as well.

    Call and ask the reason for delay and then co operate by assisting them in securing all the needed information .
