Idiot. Your candle isn't going to just TURN INTO a flamethrower. You've got to BREED your candle with other candles and subject the lot of them to gamma radiation and possibly nano machines or genetic engineering which will result in exploding frogs. THEN your candle gives birth to a flamethrower. Read the freaking walk through.

And the platypus is a fact, as unusual as it is. Your DNA is a fact both in your chromosomes and your mitochondria and it can be used to show the migration of humans out of Africa over 60,000 years ago. Your DNA also shows, compared to other species, that we have a common ancestor with other primates. I could go on, and discuss the tens of thousands of scientific papers, field and lab studies, and the fact that not one piece of information or evidence has falsified the theory of evolution (the explanation of the evidence above) over the last 150 years and more. Thus it's not really necessary to answer the rest of your question because, since you didn't know evolution was true, you probably have a number of crazy ideas about the subject based on lack of knowledge.
