Is it necessary to soak disposable coloured contact lenses in any sort of solution before use?

I recently bought a pair of white contact lenses for a fancy dress day and I have no idea whether I have to soak them in solution or not. I was going to wear them tomorrow, but I looked up how to put them in again today just to be safe and that I knew exactly what I was doing, and all the instructions for everyday-wear contact lenses include multipurpose solution .

The lenses came in seperate vials full of some sort of liquid. They expire in two years.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

They are already in sterile solution so they can be worn directly from the vials.

After you have worn them , THEN you need to put them in a case with new multi purpose solution to disinfect them over night.

They expire in 2 years ONLY if you don't open the bottle. That is a " best before date" , not how long they will last you.

Once they are opened and you start wearing them , you will be lucky to get more than 6 or 7 comfortable months out of them. They are supposedly 1 year lenses , but 1 year lenses rarely last that long. After 6 months, they start being quite unhealthy to wear because they are blocking too much oxygen , which is why there are no more yearly lenses in real contact lenses.

If you're going to wear them straight away then it shouldnt be urgent for you to soak them in solution. Whenever I buy them to wear them straight away, I leave them in the solution they come in, and sometimes right before actually putting them in, I give them a quick rinse with any solution I have, but I wouldnt say this is vital. Theyre fancy dress so chances are you wont have them in that long anyway :) Have fun wearing them! Theyll look awesome! :)
