Good question. 0.1 is actually a 1 digit number, because when deciding how many digits are in a number, you don't count the "leading zeros." Because the 0 in 0.1 is a "leading 0" meaning there are no other non-zero numbers in front of it, it does not count as a digit. It is merely a place holder. Lets say you had the number 0.01. It is still 1 digit, because the two leading zeros do not count. But in the number 0.101, the zero does count, because it has the non-zero number 1 in front of it. Same with the zero in ten.
Technically, there is no such thing as the smallest non-zero number, because it is always possible to add more zeros after the decimal point. But then you're into all kinds of funky stuff with infinity, which gets real complicated fast. Vote best answer if this helps. Have fun! 😎

Because 10 is a double digit number while 0.1 is a decimal number not a digit number and a digit is a number such as 2 or 5 which makes up 25 just like 1 and 0 make up 10 but 0.1 while it is made up of 1 and 0 the . makes it not a digit number because . is not a digit

What you have is an example of a logical fallacy called equivocation. Wikipedia defines this as " It is the misleading use of a term with more than one meaning or sense." In this case the word "number" and the expression "2 digit number" are the problems. It's like when you ask someone to pick a number between 1 and 10 and they say pi.

I said it was 0.1
If 0 is a digit when it's 10 .. why isn't it a digit when it's 0
However .. why not -99 indeed ?

The question it ask two digit number ,but it's not indicate term of the number in fraction ,negative or decimal or real numbers .
That it create possibilities of numbers ,such as 0.1 ,1/9,0/9 ,-99,10.

The phrase "two-digit number" always refers
to an integer. So even though 0.1 (or .01) are
made up of two digits, they are not "2-digit numbers."

No one said it wasn't 0.1, all you said is that everyone said 10. Who said 10 is the correct answer?

we cant consider DECIMAL in it. even though -99 is < 0.1 but still this will also not be entertained bcz we cant consider negation before the number as per the maths rule
