It depends. A 24 bit pixel has 3 colors Red, Green, and Blue. Each color can have value from 0-255. So each pixel in this mode consists of 3 bytes. A megabyte can have different meanings. It could be 1 million bytes, or it could mean 1024 x 1024 bytes = 1048576 bytes.

If it is 1 million bytes, then divide by 3 bytes per pixel to get 333333 bytes. You cannot have a third of a byte.

If it is 1048576 bytes, then divide by 3 bytes/pixel to get 349525 bytes. Once again the (1/3) byte is not usable in computers.
