Is it coincidence?
You differentiate volume of sphere you get surface area, cylinder again you get surface area except top & bottom, cube 1/2 surface area.

No, not coincidence. You can think of the differential of volume as a thin external shell being added to the volume, so that when you add up (integrate) all the thin shells, you get the full volume.
