Does the sun move or rotate slightly over the course of spring and summer?
My back garden gets NO sun , the sun is at the front of the house , have checked all the time since I moved in but TODAY for the first time I have got some sunshine in about one third of the back garden
Does it go through some slight rotations over the spring and summer which means I may get some MORE sun out the back later in the year?
I was surprised and happy today when I saw some sunshine on 1/3rd of the back garden for once!!! :-)

Good to hear! This close to the midway of the sun's movement in the sky, you're seeing sun. As we move closer to mid June, the sun is moving higher in the sky......moving north if that's the way you want to think about it. I suspect you may not get full sun in all your yard by mid June, the highest the sun will be each year. The areas against the house may pick up early morning and late afternoon sun but not direct overhead during mid day. So any planting against the house should not be a sun loving plant, but one that will tolerate shorter exposure to direct sun. Because starting early July the sun starts moving south again so more of the yard will be back in shadow.

The earth rotates around the sun. The earth is tilted 23 degrees, so at one end of the orbit, the sun appears to be in a different location in the sky, but it is actually the earth in a different position in relation to the sun that has changed.
So the simple answer is No, the sun does not move, the earth moves and the sun light hits the earth at a different angles which causes the seasons..

The Earth is tilted 23 degrees so yes the sun moves cause the Earth tilts. Go on line and see orbital info.
