Best floor cleaner for hardwood floors.?

We have lived in homes that have a room or two of hardwood, a small enough area where something like a swifter worked fine.

Now however we are purchasing a new home that is all hardwood and I am looking for ideas on a step up from our swifter.

Anyone have any that they love or hate?

We were looking at a handful of the duos (sweep and clean)

The owner of the floor-finishing company told me to use a mop slightly dampened with dish-soapy water. Just a little soap. He recommended those flat microfiber mops with flat pads. I use a sponge mop with a damp towel under it, using the sponge mop to push and pull the towel around the floor. Water is okay if the finish is good. You don't want water to get in between the boards, though. I used to use Bona but over time a dull residue built up. Murphy's Oil soap will also create a film if you use it all the time.

For all wood floors consider taking shoes off at the door. Rubber backed rugs are nice. JCPenney has a nice selection of room size rubber backed rugs online. For dust I have a wide dust mop that has a removable, launderable head. For sand you have to sweep with a broom.
