Reversing a power inverter?

I have a car amplifier that I use at home for my home subwoofer, and I need a source of 12VDC, but can't find a power supply that goes from 120VAC to 12VDC, (only found products that does the opposite of what I do, how ******* stupid...) I was wondering if I can get one of those inverters and connect the wall outlet to the output, and get 12VDC from the other end? Would that work?

No that's not how the electronics in these things work.

That said I did a quick look and can find a variety of 240VAC to 12VDC adapters on sale here in the UK, so I would have thought that such things were easily available!

ebay have hundreds - good ones are not cheap they are called power supplies (PSUs ) or transformers , not reverse inverters

Go to a ham radio store, they sell them to power Ham radios in the home instead of the car.

Gigaparts in Huntsville, AL for instance.

check the ham radio websites. you'll find a power supply that puts out the amperage you need for that. they make some serious heavy duty units.
