My setup is the Baofeng UV5001 50W dual band mobile radio, with an antenna from amazon(https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00SZV7YT6/ref=yo_i... I mounted the antenna on the hood of my car using a hood mount. I found a repeater 1.1 miles away from me, and on my 50W unit, I set it to the frequency. And on my handheld radio, I set it at 5mhz more . When I transmitted on my 50W, I m not hearing anything from the repeater from my handheld unit. I ve set the CTCSS tone on my 50W unit as well, so i m not sure if it s the antenna or i m not doing something correctly. For this test I used UHF.

So light travels fastest in vacuum, and nothing can travel faster than the speed of light. Right? But what happens if you shine a laser beam directly into a super massive black hole? Since photons are affected by gravity, shouldn't it speed it up past the speed of light in vacuum?

I have a 9th gen civic SI and I replaced my turn signal bulb yesterday with LED ones. I noticed the back side is perfectly fine, but the front side doesn't really blink when I apply my turn signals. When my headlights are on, those amber lights turn on, and are in the "dimmed" mode, but when I flip on my turn signals, it will indicate by becoming slightly brighter, and then return to the dimmed state. I want the bulbs to turn ON OFF ON OFF ON OFF ON OFF when I use my turn signals, instead of DIM BRIGHT DIM BRIGHT DIM BRIGHT because the difference between bright and dim is barely noticable. Are those LEDs just bad?

I have a car amplifier that I use at home for my home subwoofer, and I need a source of 12VDC, but can't find a power supply that goes from 120VAC to 12VDC, (only found products that does the opposite of what I do, how ******* stupid...) I was wondering if I can get one of those inverters and connect the wall outlet to the output, and get 12VDC from the other end? Would that work?

This is a hypothetical question and I was just curious and thought up of this scenerio, so lets say you have some "illegal items" in your backpack and a police wants to search your bag but you don't consent to search. But then a random bystander snatches your backpack and dumps all the content onto the floor, along with the "illegal items" and the cop sees it. At that point could the cop arrest you? Since technically he didn't search you without a warrant, a random bystander did the "search," would the evidence be legitimate in court?

I hold the bar with my palms facing me and after my set, my finger's bones would hurt, not the skin for some weird reason, my fingers would feel really tight and hurt when i try to form a fist or move my fingers, how can I prevent this?

I want to buy an LCD monitor for my xbox, but the problem is the ones I find either have built in speakers, or no speakers, and no 3.5mm jack to get the audio out.... How can I get the audio out from HDMI? my friend has a screen where it has a 3.5mm jack coming out of the screen so you can just plug in headphones

Usually it takes me 1+ hours of lying in bed to fall asleep and what i hate is when i'm right about to fall asleep and some tiny stupid *** noise wakes me the **** up and i feel like i just drank a cup of coffee and feel wide awake for the next hour or so and can't fall asleep.... it pisses me off so much how can i fall asleep faster after being interrupted or something? I'm tired of wearing ear plugs every night i was wondering if theres a way to fix this problem... And don't tell me stuff like "oh just close your eyes" or some dumb stuff like that

Hey, to start off, i'm 18 years old, 131lb, 5'10 and I workout roughly 3-4 times a week working out every other day. So i'm an extreme ectomorph and I've heard people say I should eat 4000 calories a day, but I find it hard because I get full really easily. If what they say is true, could I still gain muscle while in a calorie deficit? I consume roughly 150-200g of protein daily.

I always eat chipotle after a workout, and I either get soft tacos, or a burrito. I went on their site and calculated the nutrition for the tacos I get, and it's 740 calories, 45g of carbs, and 76.5g of protein. That's 1 meal, 1 sitting. I find it weird how when I eat chipotle, 700 calories of food can fill me up, while if I eat at Ihop or dennys, I can eat well over 1100 calories, why is it that I can consume an extra 300-400 calories when eating at ihop or dennys, but I can only eat 700 calories of food from chipotle? Would I still gain the same amount of muscle if I eat 700 calories verses the 1100 calorie meal assuming that the amount of protein remains the same?

So I was listing a cell phone on ebay, someone bidded and bought it, but wasn't responding to messages/sent payment, so I filed a unpaid item claim and relisted the item, and after the item sold to another person and recieved payment, the guy decides to close the unpaid item case and pay for the phone... So I did this

y = x^ln(x)

ln y = ln[x^ln(x)]

ln y = ln(x) * ln(x)

ln y = ln(x)^2

1/y * dy/dx = 2ln(x) [Power Rule...?]

dy/dx = y * 2ln(x)

dy/dx = [x^ln(x)] * [2ln(x)]

My teacher's answer is

dy/dx = [x^ln(x)] * [2/x * ln(x)]

I can't seem to figure out why he divided the 2 by x. Perhaps I made an error somewhere? Could someone please help me, thanks.

Got pulled over today by an officer for making a "right turn on a red arrow" at an intersection. Funny thing about that is at that specific intersection, ONLY the GREEN and YELLOW lights are arrows, the red is unprotected. I guess it is a common misconception at that intersection because people assume that if the green light is protected, so is the red, but it's not.

Anyways, I live in California and I got "CVC 21453(c) Red Arrow", and there clearly is no red right arrow at that intersection. Only a protected red left turn arrow. I chose to not argue with the officer and just not answer any questions because I was late to class and didn't want to waste any time arguing with an officer, so I just chose to remain silent and not answer any questions. How would I go about challenging this ticket in court? I feel like I could easily win this because the officer got the traffic light signs mixed up, so should I take pictures of the lights and the road and do I need a lawyer? Thanks

So today is my 2nd day at chipotle and working in the line is really hot and demanding on my legs and lower back. I came home today with my legs completely exhausted, back is sore from standing like 4 hrs straight. And halfway through my shift i got pretty badly dehydrated and felt dizzy and a bit nauseous so i had to take water break and sit down for 10 minutes while constantly drinking water before feeling better. What are some ways I can adapt to workin in the kitchen faster? The dehydration part kills me and i drank around 40 ounces of water already since my water break but i'm still feeling a bit funny.

Like I haven't eaten in 7 hours but I don't have an apetite. This is strange for me so I don't know whats up. Any way I can adapt to my working environment in a hot kitchen faster? Thanks

I live in the state of California, and I believe under California law, it's illegal to bike without a helmet if you are under 18, if you are over 18, then it's legal. If for example, I was riding a bike without my helmet and an officer looked at me and figured I "looked young" would that be reasonable suspicion to detain me and ask for ID?

I just had a thought, but what would to happen if I buy something from someone via Paypal, for "goods", and they transfer the money to their bank account, never send the item, and then close their paypal account? What would that mean to me? By the way this is all metaphorically speaking, this hasn't happened to me yet.

I'm just wondering if this is legal, because i'm planning on making my license plate characters reflective. I was going to cover the characters with blue reflective tape. Is there any law that says i can't mess with the color of the letters? I live in California by the way.
