Why do males need a larger calorie intake than females?
FIRST THING'S FIRST: I tried researching, EVEN WITH QUOTES, I'm furious with Google Search because I'm not getting what I WISH TO KNOW... I search WHY but it's only giving me websites where it ONLY explains that females need 2,200 daily & males need 2,800 daily; but it doesn't explain WHY.
ANYWAYS, so now I have to come over here to ask this because this is really bugging me because male humans and female humans are HUMANS, please do not bug me on this, I don't have time for irrelevant answers, I'm being descriptive as possible (There is no sexism intended so please don't be a wise-***. Please answer my question biologically, much appreciated!..)
We're not different types of animals; so how come there isn't a resemblance in calorie intake for different genders? Of course I don't want to get too philosophic here because we get nowhere over-thinking this.

Since we are likely talking about averages since the “Average” male is larger than the “Average” female the “Average” required calorie intake for a female will be smaller. The problem with focus on average calorie intake is that it does not take into account relative activity levels or muscle mass. I.e. an athlete requires more calories than an office worker who sits behind a desk all day. I would expect a 130 female athlete might require a higher calorie intake than a 190 male office worker since an athlete would likely burn more calories because of a greater activity level.
