Experiences with detox diet?

I have really bad eczema which I have read can be due to an unhealthy gut and build up of toxins in the liver. I want to do a detox which will include three days with lemon water, broth and herbal tea and then gradually introducing raw vegetables and more variety over several weeks.

My question is does anyone have experience with detox diets? What was your reason for doing it, how did you go about it, for how long and of course what was the result? Thanks!

i had an bad rash on my shin for yrs that got a lot worse during the winter and i bought a juicer and did a detox for a month and it really didn't get rid of my rash. i was spending over $100 a week doing the juicing.

i saw a youtube video on charcoal and bought a book on using charcoal for healing and made a charcoal poultice for my rash and it disappeared over a few weeks and never came back. plus i also drank charcoal powder mixed in water. so i'm not sure whether it was the poultice, the drink or a combo of both that got rid of the rash but it's gone.

I think you should do an elimination diet. I tried doing a detox diet for 2 weeks but I didn't see any signs of my eczema clearing up. I found out the main cause of my flareups was from eating seafood and dairy products. I had a food diary and would fill it out at the end of each day for 3 months. I took note of when my flareups would happen and what I ate before hand. Also recorded if I came in contact with any fragrances or chemicals and the lotions I used throughout the day.

It was a very detailed diary.

As soon as I eliminated those triggers from my diet, my skin started to itch less and breakouts were only mild.

Aside from that, I also kept my skin hyrdated which is very important if you want to heal your eczema :)
