Perpendicular lines?

determine the equation of the line that is perpendicular to y = a x +b at x=c

    y = (-1/a)x + b

    To find perpendicular lines you simply need to take the slope (in this case, a), and evaluate the negative reciprocal of it, holding everything else constant.

    Ex: if y = (2)x, the line forming a perpendicular line to it would be y = (-1/2)x
