Best (fictional) candidate for President? (see details)?
I have these two candidates running for President for a political thriller I am working on. The election is going to be close but ultimately one will win and have to deal with the oncoming global crisis.
Democratic Candidate: Retired Female Air Force Chief of Staff from Colorado, multiple tours in the Middle East. Her Husband is also retired Air Force, working as a consultant with a Defense contractor (possible scandal involving government contracts). Strong supporter of Defense budget increases, and continuation of the War on Terror (joined the Democrats due to family ties).
Republican Candidate: Practitioner in General Medicine from California, currently serving as a Representative in the House from his home district. Spent several years in the Peace Corps and Doctors Without Boarders. Recent allegations point to multiple affairs (no concrete evidence for or against) Favors Healthcare Reform and Nonintervention foreign policy, has difficulty in winning support from general party base (joined GOP due to fiscal policies) (only received nomination due to unprecedented support from LGBT voters in CA and TX due to Lesbian daughter).
Who do you believe would have the best chance of winning? Do these two candidates seem like they would have a close election?

All in all, I would go with the (D) female.....because she actually has some military experience.
Just having a lesbian daughter daughter is not the basis to elect a president.
It's time we pushed "politicians" aside again, and actually elected LEADERS and experienced MILITARY people, who know what the hell they are doing.
The world is becoming a very unstable place......and I'd like to see some candidates with vast military experience in the top spot once again........like in the old days.

I am with right stuff here. The two candidates would seem to better represent the party they are NOT nominated by. (you know that California has closed presidential primaries - so all those LGBT would have to be registered Republicans to have nominated your candidate - seems a tad unlikely)

you have each candidate in wrong party and this will be the lowest voter turnout in history.
