Dealing with severe social phobia without medications?

Hey all!

I've recently come off of my medications (roughly two weeks ago) due to unacceptable side effects, and I'd been feeling super, but now that it's completely out of my system, I am getting the severe social phobia symptoms I used to get before I went on the meds. Cringing just while talking to someone, overwhelming fear about talking to anyone to the point I clench my muscles to cope.

I can tell that I'm more capable now- much more so than I was when I began the meds as a child 7 years ago. Though I need some great/effective coping methods.

What has worked for you? What should I try?

You're just like thousands of other people who need to be on medications and let their illness run their lives and think they can be strong without them and quit. It usually doesn't work and you're finding out now that it doesn't. You need to be in therapy and you need your medications. Call the doctor who prescribed them and discuss the medications and dosages. It can take quite awhile to get the correct combo and dosage and I doubt very much if you have done that.
