What is the best tasting Apple for a lunch box?

The Galas have pele that is hard to chew.

    i suggest dried apple slices, yummy and fun to eat

    I really enjoy red apples. They are much harder than the green apples and give me much more satisfaction.However, if you like a soft and a bit sour taste go for green apples.

    Gala apples are perfect size for a lunchbox and almost always sweet unlike red delicious, golden apples too but not found too easy.

    My personal favorites right now are called KIKU apples, but they may be kind of hard to find anywhere outside of washington. I also really like Pink Ladies and Fuji apples :)

    I like the tart Granny Smith apples, other apples are just Blah to me.

    Green; very sour and tasty. Doesn't mash easily either. Try it! :)
