What causing my 2 new PSU buzzing?
Hi guys. I have this newly built PC with a Gigabyte GTX 980 G1 on my Asus Maximus Hero VII. First PSU I had for this built was the Corsair AX1200i, and it has the same buzzing noise that I have with my current Seasonic X-850. I don't think it's a coil whine because it doesn't have the whining high pitch noise.
How come 2 new PSU are making the same noise? And yes I am sure it is coming from the PSU and not the GPU.
The noise is not constant. Usually it will start when booting up my PC and after maybe 10 minutes it will goes back to silent. But sometimes it will appear when I'm under heavy load.
To Daniel French: No.. The noise is coming right out from the back of the PSU. So I don't think it's the fan that caused it.

Have you got cables that could be catching on the PSU fan? I had this happen to me and it took me hours of troubleshooting before I realised.

coilwhine from the power supply, if the noise is unbearable then you might need to rma the power supply. It can be caused by an incompatible gpu or motherboard
