Do you think of the concept of eternity as an endless expanse of time, or could it be thought of as an alternate dimension of existence?

I think of eternity as the lack of time.
Or perhaps it could be described as the endless Now.
Or even better - it's a dimension that applies to that which is spirit, not matter.
In our universe, which is a material universe made up of matter, we have to have time for it to operate. It took time for space to expand, you see. Without time, there could be no expansion. So one of the dimensions we must have is time. We cannot possibly imagine what a universe without time would be like. Any more than we can imagine what a non-material universe would be like.
But when our physical bodies die, we step out of time and enter eternity. Now is the time to prepare for that.

Neither. Time is a product of space-time and dependent upon the existence of this universe. This universe had a birth and it will experience an end. When it ends, time will end with it.
Ergo, limitless time or "eternity" is a concept without a reality.

Eternity has no beginning AND no end. Only the NOW truly exists. The rest exist only as potentials and probabilities.
that which happened a second ago doesn't exist any more. That which might happen in a second or so doesn't yet exist, except as potential.

To be plain simple, eternity means there is no start or end... Being within a dimension means being limited, being eternal is perfect
